4th of July in the Bluegrass!

Happy 4th!!  Before we start chatting about our cookout plans, fireworks, and outfits, lets take a moment to remember the reason for this day and why we celebrate Independence Day on the Fourth of July every year. We think of July 4, 1776, as a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. So in other words, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!!

Many of you are taking this day to spend with family and friends, and having some amazingly delicious cookouts, buying stock in fireworks for the kiddos, and more than likely, tossing back a few cold ones!

If you’re still scrambling for something patriotic to wear today, most of your local stores are still open (at least for half of the day), so run in and grab you a simple solid color tee and shorts/skirt, or get festive and choose something with stars and stripes. But if you get lucky and actually find a department store, refer back to my Friday Favorites for a little inspiration. 🙂

But if you’re just late to the party and are just going to throw on something you already have, don’t worry. Take this opportunity as time to be ahead of the game for next year. Take advantage of some sales now so that you are better prepared next year. Here are a few things to get you started! (SURPRISE! Everything is $50 or less!!)

Happy Shopping and Happy 4th of July!
xoxo,
