Thrifted Splurges

I bet you never imagined you would be reading those two words in the same sentence, right?  Well today we are talking about shopping affordably and getting creative with budget friendly pieces that may appear to cost way more than you actually paid!

Whoever said you have to spend a fortune and pay full price for great quality fashion IS A LIE! Now don’t get me wrong, I shop in major retailers and pay full price for items here and there, but the majority of the time I beeline start to the sale and clearance racks.  Another great way to shop quality brand names is to do a little bit more digging and start thrifting. There are so many good thrift shops out there these days, that its really easy to find new and gently used second hand pieces to add to your wardrobe. I’m talking tops, bottoms, coats, shoes, and even jewelry.  When you’re thrifting, the possibilities are truly endless!

Something that I have done religiously for the past 5 years now is “shopping closets!” If you’re not familiar with that phrase, its where people will post their gently used items from their very own closets on a website of their choice and resale. These are really popular on Instagram, Poshmark, Tradesy, and ThreadUp

Here are a few of my favorites Insta Closets to shop (psssst….@shoprobinsonstyle is where I got this super cute leopard print cardigan from)

I have been shopping with Jessica from @Secondsailclothing for almost five years now and I have scored some really awesome pieces!  Over the last year, I discovered Kelly (@hellorobinsonstyle) and about a week ago she decided to take her love of thifting to the next level and she started her IG boutique @shoprobinsonstyle.  Below are some of the pieces I have purchased from both shops, and I have even more fab finds on the way!

As you can see, I scored some really awesome pieces at a fraction of the price if I had paid full retail. So the next time you feel the need to shop, stop and think about some alternative ways to still “splurge” without actually breaking the bank.  Both of these ladies are super sweet and really take the time to search for the best pieces to add to their shops!  All of their information is linked in each picture above, so go ahead and check them out and show their shops some love! 🙂

Happy Thrifting!
